Maturity is being able to acknowledge when you’re wrong. Then making appropriate changes to amend the wrong doings. It’s important to own the mistake and address it. It affords the opportunity to re-gain trust in the relationship and limits the likelihood of repeat offense.
When you realize you’ve made a mistake, admit you were wrong, take immediate steps to correct it, look the person in the eyes and apologize. It’s Ok. It’s not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of emotional intelligence. We are not perfect, nor should we look for perfection. Just make the effort to be a better person.
