In the age of social media it’s so easy to spend time scrolling, messaging, posting, and sliding into DMs. When’s the last time you actually CALLED the friend you send memes from Instagram to. Whens the last time you met up with the person you snap chat all day. When’s the last time you actually cooked the kinda food you like on those Facebook pages. When’s the last time you’ve been to places that are hashtags to the travel pages you subscribe too. When’s the last time you put into action the things you learned from those podcasts you listen to. Don’t let the convenience of social media fool you into thinking you’re living life. Cuz living to post for likes is not living. Reading what everyone else is doing doesn’t mean you know what’s going on in their lives. Don’t think that “instagram friendships” are just like the real thing. Make an effort to use some time to connect less on a digital level, and more on a face-to-face level. Put down your phone at dinner. Engage in conversations that aren’t through a text message or computer screen. Trust me, I’m not the best at this. But I’ll try if you try. Life is a gift. So be present in the moment.
